Yes, it’s nearly Carnival time. Which means some adjustment to our regular schedule. We’ll be open this coming weekend, February 7-8; however, we will be CLOSED next weekend, February 14-15. We’ll be back to our regular hours the following weekend, February 21-22. Happy Mardi Gras!

Blood Orangecello & Mardi Gras Cocktails at The Old Portage

We enjoyed a visit with Chef Jordan Herndon from The Old Portage this weekend. Jordan picked up a couple bottles of Buck 25 Vodka to make his Blood Orangecello. This enticing infusion was destined for The Handa Wanda, a Mard Gras themed cocktail. Jordan’s method involved vacuum sealing the blood oranges with the Buck 25. For even faster results, one could put this sealed treasure in the sous vide immersion circulator! Our correspondent on the scene provided the photos of the cocktail and menu listing.

Atelier Vie Announces Statewide Spirits Availability With New Distributor

January 15, 2015 – New Orleans. Atelier Vie, home of Real New Orleans Spirits, is pleased to announce the appointment of International Wine & Spirits, Inc., Louisiana, as their wholesale distributor for the state of Louisiana.

Bottle Sales Year End Update!

We’ll be closed for the holidays and will have no bottle sales next weekend, December 27-28. But don’t despair! Bottle sales will be by appointment through the end of the year. Our first barrel of Aged Riz, Louisiana Rice Whiskey, is nearly gone; just five bottles remain. Get in touch and you could be in that number. Plenty of stock on all other spirits.

Recognition for Louisiana Whiskey and Riz: The New Whiskey River in the Times-Picayune

The Times-Picayune celebrates “Whiskey Week” with a lengthy article on Louisiana distilleries making whiskey. Atelier Vie’s Riz, Louisiana Rice Whiskey, “the first legal whiskey made in Louisiana since Prohibition,” is in the mix.

“The distinct flavors in Riz are a result of not just the rice, but also the malt-whiskey yeast and pot-distillation process used by Atelier Vie.” Since the groundbreaking 2013 release of the unaged version of Riz, we’ve also released a barrel-aged version.
